Abstract
The Red Lion Workbench project is made up of many files in a folder. To save the project or archive with the purpose of transfers to another computer an export or zip process must be followed. Then to open on another computer the import feature must be used.

Use Case: Export and Import Entire Projects

Export the project as a XML file
- Open the project to be exported. Go to Tools > Export. Click Next.
- Select the Export a complete project (XML) radio button. Click Next.
- Select the project to be exported and click Next.
- Save the name of the xml file. The XML is the entire project settings, programming and fieldbus configurations.
Import an archived XML file
- Open or create a new project list that the project can be imported.
- To import the archived xml project file go to File > Add Existing Project > From XML Export File…
- Select the archived XML project file and click Open. The complete project will then be imported into the project list. If the project name already exists you will be asked to rename the imported project.
Export Project File as a zip file
- Find the Project folder using Windows Explorer. Once you find the folder where all the project file are shored. Archive that folder using Windows Compression (.zip). The Red Lion Project files may be located in C:\Users\Public\Public Documents.
- Save the resulting zip file to archive location or transfer to another location.
Import the Archived (compressed) Project to another Project list
- Open the new project list. Go to File > Add Existing Project > From Zip.
- Find the zip file and click open. The project will be restored completely.
