Abstract
User Authenticated access to the Red Lion RTU with the Sixnet I/O Tool Lit is enabled by checking the enable user authentication checkbox in the configure users configuration screen. After the user authentication is enabled. Communication to the Red Lion RTU over UDP/IP will be stopped with a user authentication challenge.

How to enable user authenticated access to the Red Lion RTU
- Using the Tool Kit program, go to Configuration>Configuration Station/Module > Configure Users.
- Check the “Enable user authentication” check box.
- Remove all permissions from the ‘anonymous’ user.
- Click the “Add User…”, add user name and password, then set permissions for the user.
- After the configuration is loaded to the RTU user authentication is enabled in the RTU.
- Remove all permissions from the ‘anonymous’ user.
