For Dial ATM’s
Connect the device to the network as shown in this diagram:

Set the ATM to dial the phone number that corresponds with your processor.

For IP ATM’s
This process can be used to allow the Sixnet/JBM device to handle the SSL encryption of the transaction process which will speed up transactions.
- Connect JBM/Sixnet Device as illustrated in this diagram below:

Logging Into the Device to Determine the IP of ETH0
This process can be used to determine the IP address of ETH0 which the Sixnet/JBM device obtained from the Router using DHCP.
Things you will need
- 9 to 9 pin (Patch/Straight Through) Serial cable or USB to serial
- The Sixnet/JBM device. (This process can be performed on any C series device C2xx, or any D series device A2x0x)
- Open Up TeraTerm

- Choose your serial connection. (For the 9 to 9 pin connection is generally COM1, for USB to Serial choose the COM connection associated with your USB to Serial Adaptor) Then click “OK”

- Navigate to Setup> Serial Port. And make sure the settings are as follows.
For C series devices
- Baud rate: 9600
- Data: 8 bit
- Parity: None
- Stop: 1 bit
- Flow Control: none
For D series devices
- Baud rate: 115200
- Data: 8 bit
- Parity: None
- Stop: 1 bit
- Flow Control: none
Then click “OK” then hit the “ENTER” key.

You should be brought to a screen like this.

- At the login type root for the username and the password is the serial number of the device in all lowercase, example 00230e.

NOTE: You will notice that as you type the password nothing is displayed, this is a security feature.
- At the command prompt type ifconfig eth0. This will bring up the information for the ETH0 interface we are looking for the inet addr as seen in the picture below.

In this picture you can see the device is getting the IP address of 192.168.1.10. Write this IP address down we will need it for setting up the ATM’s
Now that we have the IP address from the device we can move on to setting up the ATM’s.
Setting Up the IP ATMs
With the IP address that we obtained from the Sixnet/JBM device (192.168.1.10) we know that , for my example, this network is in the 192.168.1.x IP address range (This is just an example setup and you will need to determine the IP address range but what IP address you get from the Sixnet/JBM device). So I setup ATM 1 as follows
- IP Address: 192.168.1.2
- Subnet: 255.255.255.0
- Gateway: 192.168.1.10 (This has to be the IP address of the Sixnet/JBM device)
Host Setup
You will need to set the Host IP address to be the same as the IP address of the Sixnet/JBM device
Host port needs to be setup with the port corresponding with your processor.

You can configure multiple ATM’s with this setup as long as the IP of the other ATM’s are in the same IP address range (Refer to DialtoIP-IPATM.jpg for my example), and the subnet, gateway, host ip, and host port are the same.
