All configuration management on the EL series switches can be done in both the Web interface and the CLI interface. In the Web interface, these pages are located in the System menu under File Management. The EL series supports the storage of multiple configurations in the switch, and up to two different firmware versions.
HTTP Upload (Web only)
- Log into the switch with your username and password (default: admin/admin).
- From the File management menu, select the Copy Operation menu.
- For the file type, select config.
- Click the Browse… button to select the configuration file you want to upload.
- Under destination file name, either select an existing configuration filename or type a new name in the box provided.
- Click Apply to begin the file transfer. A window appears indicating the status of your transfer. If this window does not appear, confirm that you do not have a popup blocker enabled on your Web browser.
TFTP or FTP Upload (Web)
- Log into the switch with your username and password (default: admin/admin)
- From the File management menu, select the Copy Operation menu.
- In the first drop-down list, do one of the following:
- Select FTP (or TFTP) to running-config to make the configuration immediately active.
- Select FTP (or TFTP) to file if you want to copy the file to the switch, but not activate it.
- To copy the running configuration, you must specify the TFTP server address and the source filename. For FTP, you must also specify a username and password.
- When uploading to a file, you must specify the FTP/TFTP server address, username and password (FTP only), file type (config) and the name of the source configuration you want to copy. Under destination file name, either select an existing configuration filename or type a new name in the box provided.
- Click Apply to begin the file transfer. A window appears indicating the status of your transfer. If this window does not appear, confirm that you do not have a popup blocker enabled on your Web browser.
TFTP or FTP Upload (CLI)
1. Log into the switch with your username and password (default: admin/admin).
2. Do one of the following:
- Type copy ftp(or tftp) running-config to load a configuration from your FTP/TFTP server and make it the running configuration.
- Type copy ftp (or tftp) file to upload a configuration file, but not activate it.
3. You are prompted to enter the following information:
- File type (choose config in this case)
