This setting will keep the modem from switching to Roaming. The following steps will determine if the modem is set to “home-only” mode and the procedures to disable roaming (home only). These procedures can only be done through a local serial connection ONLY.
To query the modem from HyperTerminal
- ate1
- at+bcmode=0
- ath
- at+bsermd=98
- ate1
- at!swi=97
- at!nv?442
If the modem returns 00 FF 00 roaming is enabled.
If the modem returns 00 01 00 roaming is disabled (in home only mode).
To Disable Roaming (Home-Only)
- Enter steps 1 - 5 above if have not done so previously.
- at!swi=97
- at!nv=442,00,01,00
- at!reset
- *reboot the modem*
To enable roaming (Home Only off)
- Enter steps 1 – 5 above if have not done so previously.
- at!swi=97
- at!nv=442,00,FF,00
- at!reset
- *reboot the modem*
