RM-232 Setup is used for configuring RemoteTRAK and EtherTRAK I/O Modules. Typically, they have DB9-style connectors for their Serial Port. Here are the steps to configure a RemoteTRAK/EtherTRAK module using an RM-232 Setup.
- Insert the RM-232 Setup into the base of the module being configured.
- Connect the ST-CABLE-PF between the Computer and DB9-SERIAL PORT on the Setup module.
- Open Sixnet I/O Toolkit software. Select Device -> Select -> Use com port and choose the appropriate com port (com1, Com2, etc)
- In the main window, click on the configuration field for the module to be loaded and select Operations -> Load now command. This will write the configuration into base of the module.
Note: You can remove the existing module and insert the field setup module even when power is applied.
