Abstract
This document provides information about important items to consider when updating firmware on a FlexEdge Device.

FlexEdge DA50A and DA70A
Details
FlexEdge DA50A and DA70A units running firmware 3.2.0050.0 or earlier must first update to Crimson 3.2.0050.0 prior to updating to the latest Crimson release. Failure to observe this requirement may render the device inoperable, requiring it to be sent back to Red Lion to be restored.
- For any units with a serial number that contains a date prior to October 1st, 2022, as indicated by digits 3-9, (for example: YU01OCT22xxxxx), customers must update to Crimson 3.2.0050.0 first before moving to the latest 3.2 release.

Verify Current Crimson Version
- Use a browser to login to the System Web Server
- Click on System at the top right of the screen
- Verify current Software Version
Updating Crimson 3.2 devices
Crimson database files (.cd32) are downloaded to the target devices by means of the Link menu.
- First click Link>Options and select your update method,
- Then click on Link>Update.
The programming link between the PC and the target device can be made using:
- Ethernet TCP/IP
- USB Type B port
- RS-232 RJ12 port
