Abstract
This tech note provides steps to modify the default VLAN from VLAN 1 for accessing the switch's web interface. This procedure will be used for networks that do not permit the use of VLAN 1.
Click the + icon to configure a new VLAN ID and IP Address that will be used to access the switch web interface.
Create the new VLAN and select switch ports that will be members.
Set the PVID for switch ports that will communicate in the new management VLAN.
Note: To avoid losing communication to the switch web interface when removing VLAN 1 verify the new management VLAN, and switch port are properly configured to allow web interface access.
Once you have completed the above steps, you will need to save the running configuration by clicking on the icon located in the upper right followed by saving the switch configuration from the left-hand System side bar menu icon shown below:
