This document explains the naming scheme used for the PXU series to help identify which model is needed for a given application. Below is a PXU model with variables in the name to explain the naming structure. Below the variable explanations is a true PXU model for example with it's features listed.
PXU-w-x-y-z-0
w = Sets the main control output type, options are 1-4 as follows:
1: SPST Relay contact
2: 12VDC pulse for SSRs
3: 4-20mADC modulating signal
4: 0-10VDC modulating signal
x = Sets the Output 2 control type, is always relay unless the output is completely removed. Options are 0-1 as follows:
0: No secondary output control
1: SPST Relay contact for output 2
y = Sets supporting features in the package. Options are A-D as follows:
A: Two user input terminals (two remote digital functions)
B: Heater Current input with supplied CT
C: 4-20mA retransmission output signal
D: 0-10V or 4-20mA remote setpoint input terminal to accept a process signal from say a PLC
z = Sets the size and power supply of the unit. Options are 2,3,5,B,C,E
2: 1/16 DIN AC powered
3: 1/8 DIN AC powered
5: 1/4 DIN AC powered
B: 1/16 DIN DC powered
C: 1/8 DIN DC powered
E: 1/4 DIN DC powered
Example:
PXU31C30 - Main control output is 4-20mA, secondary output is SPST relay. The unit has a 4-20mA retransmission signal, is AC powered, and is a 1/8 DIN package.
Please note, models with multiple 0’s in the name do not have secondary outputs, RS485 comms, or extra features, only main output control. (PXU10020 for example)
Not all option combinations are available in the 1/4 DIN package, please look at the full unit list below to verify which versions exist and which do not.
