Abstract:
This document describes the numeric data values used by the CS and GM modules.

Use Case: Working with Numeric Values from Modules
The modules use integers integers for all of their numeric values, this document describes how to use them properly.
Temperature Values
The Thermocouple, RTD, and universal input modules all measure in tenths of degrees. This results in an integer ten times greater than the actual temperature. There are three options that can be used:
Adding a dummy decimal place
1. Create a new Numeric Tag.
2. Map a tag to the module's value.
3. Change the Tag's Format to Numeric.
4. Set the Digits after DP to 1.
Scale to a Whole Number Integer
1. Create a new Numeric Tag.
2. Map a tag to the module's value.
3. Set the Data Scaling to Scale to Integer.
4. Use the scaling values shown below.
Scale to a Floating-Point Value
1. Create a new Numeric Tag.
2. Map a tag to the module's value.
3. Set the Data Scaling to Scale to Floating Point.
4. Use the scaling values shown below.
Other Values
All other values are also integers but may have varying decimal positions. This results in an integer some multiple of ten times greater than the actual temperature. There are three options that can be used:
Adding a dummy decimal place
1. Create a new Numeric Tag.
2. Map a tag to the module's value.
3. Change the Tag's Format to Numeric.
4. Set the Digits after DP to equal to the number of decimal places shown in the module's configuration.
Scale to a Whole Number Integer
1. Create a new Numeric Tag.
2. Map a tag to the module's value.
3. Set the Data Scaling to Scale to Integer.
4. The Data To field should be a 1, followed by as many zeros as digits after the decimal place. One digit after the decimal place is shown below.
Scale to a Floating-Point Value
1. Create a new Numeric Tag.
2. Map a tag to the module's value.
3. Set the Data Scaling to Scale to Floating Point.
4. The Data To field should be a 1, followed by as many zeros as digits after the decimal place. One digit after the decimal place is shown below.
