Download and install N-View™ 2 from www.redlion.net
This reset process requires a previous version of switch firmware. Please contact a Tech Support agent for a suitable firmware image in the event one has not already been provided to you.
Select the correct network interface in N-View™ 2
Add the 3.7.3 firmware file in the file tab. Select the appropriate destination platform based on the model of switch you are working with. Note, this will delete any other version of firmware for a model.
In the Devices tab, highlight the switch you want, then select downgrade Firmware
Note - The warning message shown above is expected due to a firmware downgrade operation being performed.
After the downgrade is complete, go into the web browser interface of the switch using:
User “admin”
Password “admin”
Reset the switch to factory defaults, making sure that everything is unchecked but the IP address. Once the switch has rebooted, rerun the network discovery in N-View™ 2. Note, the factory default IP Address is 192.168.1.201
Upload the latest firmware image for your switch model into N-View™ 2 (example v3.9.1):
Go to the Devices Tab and Upgrade the firmware to 3.9.1 as shown below:
You should be able to go into the switch using “admin” “admin” again with the latest version of firmware.
NOTE: After the downgrade process, the switch should retain the IP address that was configured on the switch. However, it may reset it to the factory default of 192.168.1.201. If this is the case you will have to set the proper IP address either in N-View™ 2 or the web interface. You should verify that the MAC address displayed matches the device you are working with.
