Procedure to enable a rear user input for program lockout and or quick access. Once the panel meter has been setup.
Most PAX series panel meters have three rear user inputs available. One of these can be programmed as a Ploc function. This is accomplished in Menu 2-FNC, USR-1, set to PLOC. Most PAX panel meters have the below rear user terminal configuration. PAX LITE series units will differ, always consult the product manual to confirm meter configuration. Once the user input of choice is programmed, activate the program lockout function by installing a jumper between the user terminal and common. If using a sourcing input, your jumper will be between terminal 3 Vdc+ and the USER input of choice.

The second way a program lockout can be setup is with a security code.
If the above-mentioned rear jumper is not desirable. A security code entered at the front panel can also be setup. A security code, from 1-999 can be selected. See below chart for more details. If required consult page 16 of the PAX product manual for more information.
Most PAX series of panel meter also allow program lockout function with the exception of quick access to select functions.
Setpoint value change, a common use case for this feature in counting or cut to length applications, where the count or length change based on product. The operator needs a convenient way to change setpoints without access to full program mode. In this case, set a security code in menu 3-LOC, under the CODE parameter, reference page 16 of the PAXC, I,R product manual for more information. You will also have to set the quick access options you are interested in enabling these include.
- Viewable displays
- Setpoint access
- Count LD access
- Counter scale factor access
- Display intensity
Once the relevant display access has been setup and your security code programmed, last step will be to activate the selected user input by jumping out the rear user input to common. Same as above a sourcing input can also be used.
