Abstract
The Sixnet I/O Tool Kit is designed to only load configuration into to the selected module. This document defines a situation where the Tool Kit could load a configuration to the wrong device and how to avoid it.

Use Case: Invalid configuration loaded or configuration load fails
Required Software
Sixnet I/O Tool Kit 5.0.100 or above
Invalid configuration loaded to ST-IPm-6350.
Select ST-IPm-8460 in the Configuration. When the ST-IPm-8460 is selected connecting to a ST-IPm-6350 and clicking the load function will load the ST-IPm-8460 configuration. This will result in an invalid configuration getting loaded to the ST-IPm-6350. To fix reload the configuration while selecting the correct station.

Select ST-IPm-6350 in the Configuration. When the ST-IPm-6350 is selected connecting to a ST-IPm-8460 and clicking the load function will load the ST-IPm-6350 configuration. Invalid detection of EtherTRAK-2 module as RTU.
When EtherTRAK-2 is on the same IP network and it shares the same IP address as the ST-IPm-8460 the tool kit might detect it as an RTU. When the ST-IPm-8460 is selected and EtherTRAK-2 with the same IP address is connected the Tool Kit may detect it as an RTU and fail to read the serial port. To fix this make sure no devices with duplicate IP addresses are on the same network. reload the configuration while selecting the correct station.
