This document describes using the Omron FINS Master driver to communicate with a Omron NJ/NX PLC

Use Case
Communicating with a Omron NJ/NX PLC
Introduction
Red Lion has had the chance to verify this set up communicating from a Omron NX102-1220 version 1.30 to a Redlion HMI.
Crimson Communication Configuration
1. Navigate to the Communications section.
2. Click on Network (Crimson 3.x) or Ethernet (Crimson 2.0).
3. Configure the Ethernet port as required for the application.
4. Click on the first available Protocol under Network (or Ethernet).
5. Click the Pick button in the Driver Selection section.
6. Under Manufacturer, choose Omron.
7. Under Driver, select Master via FINS, as shown in Figure 1.

8. Click OK.
9. Click on the device below the protocol, PLC1 as shown in Figure 2.

10. Set the IP Address of Omron NJ/NX PLC. Destination node will be the last Octet of Omron PLC's IP Address. It is 1 in this case - 192.168.250.1
11. Source node will the last Octet of Redlion device's IP Address which is 22 in this case - 192.168.250.22 as shown in Figure 3.

Crimson Tag Mapping
The following sections show how the addresses in the Omron NJ/NX PLC correspond to the addresses available in Crimson. Figure 4. shows all the available address type

Attached is the Sysmax Studio program for the Omron NX PLC and also the Crimson 3.1 database used in testing.
