Abstract
This document describes setting up a connection that allows Red lion device to essentially act as a Modbus passthru
Products
Red Lion Controls CR1000 Human Machine Interface (HMI), CR3000 HMI, Data Acquisition (DA10, DA30), Data Station Plus, FlexEdge™ (DA50A, DA70A), G3 HMI, G3 Kadet HMI, Graphite® Controller, Graphite HMI, Modular Controller, and Productivity Station™
Required Software:
Crimson 3.0, Crimson 3.1 & Crimson 3.2
Use Case:
Third Party HMI which talks Modbus TCP/IP but cannot do Modbus RTU via 485 and you are looking to read/write data to/from three third party Modbus RTU Slave devices via RS 485
or
Third Party HMI which talks Modbus RTU but cannot do Modbus TCP/IP and you are looking to read/write data to/from three third party Modbus TCP/IP Slave devices.
Notes:
Consider these two scenarios:
You have an HMI which talks Modbus TCP/IP but cannot do Modbus RTU via 485 and you are looking to read/write data to/from three Modbus RTU Slave devices via RS 485. Modbus gateway driver allows the red lion to be configured as multiple Modbus TCP/IP slaves with different drop numbers so that HMI can read/write data and then you eventually map the data to the Modbus RTU Slave devices via RS 485 port.
or

I have used the first scenario as example in the database attached.
